Kiera's Tyranny

This blog is about our 2 children, Kiera 2 and Kalista, both born in May, 2 years and 9 days apart. I like to post pictures and tell funny stories about usually Kiera's antics. This is a way to keep family and friends "in the loop". I have moved my ranting to another blog :)

What is going on in there?

I wish I knew. There is this book called the Happiest Toddler on the Block that explains how to communicate with your child. basically like cavemen. complete with grunts. something like that.

She is getting super frusterated that she CANT communicate and is throwing this GIANT tantrums lately. Today, I was running around the house, readying to leave and she was walking around SCREAMING for no apparent reason. Brentsu and I were yelling over the din. It was about a 3 minute screech. As soon as I picked her up to leave she stopped, so that is probably what she wanted. but honestly, I have to run up and downstairs like 4 times because I always forget something. I can't hold her ALL the time. The nieghbour asked what strange animal we had in our house. he was joking. Brentsu told him a dinosour.

The week was long. I was tired. She was tired. I was mega stressed because of our house situation, we got up SO EARLY and now she is at the hieght of her separation anxiety. oh fun. so all week she was basically a crab. combined with lack of sleep, change in routine, weird place and mommy having to go, she was less than her thrilling self. She has never been like that before when I have travelled. I think part of that is bc usually we just end up at my parents.
The wedding was beautiful. Gillian looked gorgeous. While I was away, Kiera did great too. It was about 3 hours I was gone while she was awake. The babysitter was FABULOUS, brought toys, games, playdo for her to play with.
Sunday morning we left at 7AM. My friends who drove us, also have a baby. They also have a portable DVD player! She watched teletubbies, and Strawberry Shortcake the WHOLE way home. I was in heaven. she was in heaven. its only furthers my resolve to buy one for our plane trips. they might be bad, but I tell ya, its better than having the screeching child on the plane which is what I experienced on the way home. sigh.

When we got to grandmas though, she was a different story. She saw "bumpa" and a huge smile light up her face. she was so pleased. She also saw grandma and I was happy that she recognised her for sure. We went to their house and she did great. she's been there so much, it was really a non issue for her. She slept well and long.

When we got home, long ardous journey that was, she slept well again. When she woke up she went into bumpas room calling his name. it was very cute. but also sad bc she misses him :(

So the next couple of months will be crazy with lots of guests, but I think it will be a blast too. as long as I don't go anywhere :)
