Lots to catch up on!
It seems our little Kiera is getting bigger by the day. A couple of weeks ago, she decided to deposit her bowels into the toilet! YAY for ME!!! We have ditched the dipes, and though she has had a few accidents, she has also had complete non accident days since. Part of it is habit now and getting used to going in the potty all the time. And I mean, really who wants to stop and use the potty when one is playing?? so she is doing a great job, only a dipe at night! I am so thrilled.
AND the other big news is that her binky/soother is GONE! I did this prep for her for 3 days before I did the big deed. I told her the binky fairy was coming and was going to give them to babies who needed them. She was VERY unhappy. Told me she wanted it in her mouth :( that the other babies didnt need them :(, etc, etc. I just reflected her feelings, told her that it was okay to be sad, but we were still going to say goodbye to them. When the day came, we went around the house collecting them and put them in a bag. we then went outside and tied the bag in a tree. My nieghbour had agreed to trade out the bag for me, and a few minutes later we went outside to see Kieras new present! In exchange, she got a Dr. Suess book, Green Eggs, because hers was "broken" and Fox in Socks, which we all ready had a copy of. she was THRILLED. she talked about it all day. then naptime came and she had a minor meltdown. I wasn't sure of my choice of books, but I realise its actually a great substitution at bedtime. we read GEAH and she was quite pleased. That night was her bigger meltdown, she started "I don't want a present! I want my binky!" I just gave her lots of cuddles and she was able to process that they truly were gone. so I am SO HAPPY. I was so darn sick of trying to find those goofy things in the dark, let me tell ya.
I wanted to post some funny words she says and I was sitting her trying to think of them:
: tanties, for panties, though its sounding more like panties these days.
last night she was sitting on my lap after I had a Christmas chocolate and she says "mommy, your breath smells like chocolate" ummm, yeah it sure does. we got her an ice cream tooth brush that vibrates and now she wants to have a "doctor look at my teeth".
She often wakes Kalista up with "hey cutie patootie..." except its not quite that clear. She just pointed to Kalista's picture and said "awwww, that is CUTE, she is so cute!" obviously she is imitating us. though when she puts on a dress she likes to pronounce "I so pretty!" For the most part she is very gentle with Kalista, though she does have her moments. Yesterday Kali was sitting on my lap and Kiera was on the other side and Kali kicked, which she is apt to do as a baby and Kiera said "be GENTLE with me Kawi! no KICKING! we dont HIT in our house!" it was totally funny.
I will download our recent photos, I do have a video I can't post because she is clothingless (as she loves to be), but its with Doug throwing her in the air by her ankles toward the ceiling. and she demands to go over and over and over again. Doug gets too tired to keep up!
Kalista is also saying "dada" quite clearly now. The other morning he was getting ready for work and she was very awake (as she loves to be at 5am) and saw him and said "DADA!" of course, Doug was very pleased. She sits up really well, which is great and is still working on crawling forwards. I am looking forward to that, though not really , because at least right now I can convince her to stay in bed for a bit longer with me :)
