Kiera's Tyranny

This blog is about our 2 children, Kiera 2 and Kalista, both born in May, 2 years and 9 days apart. I like to post pictures and tell funny stories about usually Kiera's antics. This is a way to keep family and friends "in the loop". I have moved my ranting to another blog :)

Helper baby

okay, so she is not exactly a baby anymore. she is almost 14 months old. but I still call her my baby so deal with it.
We are still carless, and I hope that changes in about an hour. I am in crunch time doing my laundry for this trip, Doug wants me at the other house painting, we need food and I have no car and I need to go and pick up my dress. I am a serious stress case. I could probably get like diagnosed. in fact, I am so stressed out that I am throwing up. no I am not pregnant.

But I think that some of my stress will be solved today. we hired a painter, we found two realtors which I am waffling about, so our house WILL be listed by the end of the day. AND my laundry is now mostly caught up. I would like to be able to go and enjoy myself.

Today she helped me with laundy. she put some clothes into the dryer. I was quite happy and so was she and I told her what a big helper she was.
Yesterday at the house she picked up some garbage from burger king, no not gross kind, and was running around the house. Bentley was running after her and she was laughing hysterically.

I have also caught her in her old baby chair, she had climbed in and made herself right at home. I think this is my big indication that I need to buy her her own chair.

I feel bad that I am dragging her across the country again tomorrow. we have to leave super early and I need to be all ready to go tonight. ahhhh! I wish my life wasn't so crazy.. I have to get my passport renewed while I am there.

I will survive.

Firsts

Today I met with some women at Soda Springs park down the street. It was a nice time to meet other women with kids with roughly the same parenting style as myself. though I am not hard core AP parent. I did let my baby cry herself to sleep. I guess that makes me awful, but its not as if I didn't TRY!
While we were there she did two things. First of all she ate dirt. a couple of scoops full. I told her it was icky, but it didn't seem to deter her. She kept at it. well its not gonna kill her.

BUT I think the most exciting thing was the waved BYE BYE. shes been waving hello for a while, but as some kids were leaving, they said "bye" and she waved and said "bu", her version. it was so cute and I told the woman sitting next to me it was her first. how exciting!
its not as hot today thank goodness. I think we are going to get out again as I am stuck here because I have no car. sucks to be me.

Up to her eyeballs in

poop no less! EWWWWWW. I came in this morning to get her when she woke up and she was literally COVERED in poo. I had heard stories of this, coming into babies covered in it, but I was really hoping that it would never happen to me. it was EVERYWHERE, all over her legs, her arms, her FACE, her blankies her crib. it was SO GROSS. I sat there almost ralfing at the sight. and of course I was all alone, so no one was there to help me at all. she starting crying when I started heaving. I took her right to the tub and basically hosed her off, it took 15 minutes just to get her clean. the poop had dried on and caked itself. EWWWWWWWWW. I immediately put all of the dirty stuff into the hottest water we have. she was not very happy about her bath that is for sure. poor baby. poor mommy. I just hope she didn't swallow anything and will get more sick later!

EWWWWW.

She has more teeth now. her other top tooth cut over the weekend and it looks like her one right beside that tooth is about to come in. that means she is at almost 6 teeth. it went really fast it seems, the first 2 took forever and then the next ones didn't show up for months afterwards. better for the teeth I guess. theyare also saying you can pull some stem cells out of it, or marrow for transplanting to cancer patients. crazy.

nothing else new here. we are up to our eyeballs in this house we've been working on forever. my mum wants my dad home, she is lonely! I would say we are more than half way done and hopefully the rest will just fall into the place and the annoying puttering around is over. I may even try and paint today.

Little girl

So grandma just left on Sunday after a fun filled, slightly stressful day. We had a bit of a ticket mix up, which meant grandma was stuck here for another full day. But we had fun with it, we went on the hike around town, went and looked at our former almost house and went out for dinner. It was a pretty crazy day.

While grandma was here, she commented on how it seemed like all of the sudden one day Kiera was a little girl instead of a baby. She is nursing only once a day, if that now and is much too busy to have cuddles with mummy anymore. Its all very sad. With her walking, it seems like she has really grown up.
But she is really fun. She is such a goof ball. She tries to stand in her high chair, and when I tell her she has to sit to eat, she gets annoyed, but sits. This morning she was doing this shaking her head, and blinking her eyes wierdly kind of thing. Its her latest and greatest. She loves to dance with any kind of music and now knows where daddy's pic is she she can demand to see that when he is not here too. She has quite the personality. If only I could convince her to not eat the dog food.

Walking baby!

Its official. As of today, she maybe crawled like twice. she toddled around everywhere all pleased as punch with herself about the whole thing. I will get a pic of it and post it ASAP.

Other than that...not much going on here. Grandma arrived to visit with us and grandpa, whom she has named "bumpa". Tonight grandma said "dad is on his way home" and she got all excited, but I had to tell her it was grandpa, not dada. she was disappointed and kept saying his name over and over. so I pulled out the old wedding album and showed her pictures. the one at the front with him very big was her favourite. she was very excited to see it.
Her current words are:
dada, mummmmmm, bumpa, that's dog, what's that? up, get down, and hmmmmm when she wants food or water. Of course, this is only decipherable after we've heard it a few million times! she asks what's that? to just about everything and points. her head must be full of information she is processing. It sure will be fun to start talking with her more. I know when she hits 18 months she starts a super computer stage where she absorbs everything at that rate plus more. I have every intention of taking advantage of that.
